The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, August 29, 2012 Caroline J. Shaffer, 74, of Congress, died Saturday morning Aug. 25, following a brief illness. She was born Jan. 24, 1938 in Mansfield, Ohio, to John and Marjorie Spayde (Kiner). She is survived by her husband Richard Shaffer of Congress; children Ronald (Kelly) Shaffer of Galion, Ohio; daughter-in-law Jeannie Shaffer of Surprise; and Michelle McKnight of Congress. She also leaves behind brothers and sisters Patricia Gearhart, Walter Spayde, Jack and Diane Spayde, Bev and Ron Wynn, Rhonda Spayde, and Don Spayde; sisters-in-law Beth Spayde, and Melinda Spayde; grandchildren Heather Shaffer, Nicole (Cameron) Wagoner, Carolyn Shaffer, Shaun Shaffer, Cody (Nakia) McKnight, Frances Case; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, sons Rick and Richard Shaffer, and brothers Terry and Dan Spayde. Memorial services will be held at the Congress Community Church at 27420 South Santa Fe Road on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 1:30 p.m. Arrangements are by David’s Desert Chapel Funeral Home in Wickenburg
