TRETHEWEY, JR., James W. (Jim)

Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona Tuesday, August 28, 2012 James W. Trethewey, Jr. “Jim”, 92, formerly of Litchfield Park, passed away on Aug. 10, 2012. He was born on June 17, 1920 in Miami, Ariz., the firstborn son of the late Ruth and James Trethewey, Sr. After graduating from NAU he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. He then spent 30+ years as a devoted educator, teacher and principal in Young, Ariz. and Litchfield Park schools. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; four sisters, Margaret Sparks, Totsie Grantham, Mae Wilbanks, and Fern Ohl; and three brothers, Elly, John, and Bruce. He is survived by two sisters, Janet Nevin (Powell) and Betty Jo Helms, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to give a sincere thank you to Valley of the Sun Hospice.
