Barbara Lynn Clark passed away peacefully on Monday, August 27,2012 at The Peaks Senior Living Community while under the spiritual and nurturing care of Hospice Compassus and The Peaks skilled nursing staff.
Barbara was born on August 21, 1951 in Savannah, Georgia to Benjamin and Jacqueline Barker. Much of her childhood was spent in Montgomery, Alabama where she attended high school and was a graduate of Auburn University earning a degree in biology.
While attending Auburn, she met and married her loving husband of 38 years, Robert Owen Clark. Following Robert's retirement from the Air Force, they moved to Flagstaff in 1989 to enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility of Northern Arizona. Having earned a second degree in computer science, Barbara worked for Northern Arizona University's Instructional Technology Services as a Systems Administrator, Senior, until her retirement in 2009.
A true lover of nature, all of God's creatures, and the joys of life, recently Barbara applied her considerable computer skills to assisting the National Park Service on the NAU campus in managing their extensive information data base to better serve the community. Her many accomplishments and especially, her love and caring for family and friends will long serve as the cornerstone of her remembrance.
Services will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, at the Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
She will be laid to rest at the Citizen's Cemetery in Flagstaff following funeral services.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or Hospice Compassus. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.norvelowensmortuary.com.
