Jesse L. Dillard was born in Miami, Ariz. on Sept. 23, 1963. He attended school in Miami and after graduation he moved to Odessa, Texas to work in the oil field industry. Jesse moved to Mesa, Ariz. after two years in Texas and started working in construction as a framer and moved up to a foreman and had his own crew of men to supervise. He was a member of the “Local 408” Carpenters Union. Jesse loved his work in construction and his supervisor could always depend on Jesse getting the job done on time.
Jesse’s last job was at Banner Hospital in Mesa, Ariz. He suffered a heart attack on Aug. 4, 2004. Jesse was scheduled to have his third open heart surgery in August 2012 but due to heart complications and blood pressure readings he passed away on Aug. 27, 2012.
He was a wonderful father and loved his children very much. His three children are: Shalet Maria Dillard, Dustin Earl Dillard (deceased), and Brandon James Dillard. His brothers are: Wyatt E. Dillard, Clayton G. Dillard, and Quenten L. Dillard (deceased). His wife is Lynette K. Dillard (deceased). His mother is Sara A. Dillard.
Jesse was a very positive person, always fun loving and he loved to tell jokes and keep people laughing. When asked by friends or passers by, “How are you?” his reply would always be, “It’s a good day because I’m on this side of the dirt.”
He loved sports and NASCAR races. Most important, he loved the “Lord.”
That beautiful smile and laughter will be greatly missed.
We loved him so much and we will never forget him.
