Gene Delain Shelton, 84, of Chouteau, Okla., and formerly of Buckeye died Aug. 24, 2012, in Chouteau.
Mr. Shelton was born June 27, 1928, in Eakly, Okla., to Park and Moine Shelton.
He received an engineering degree from Arizona State University and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also was a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Shelton; two sons, Gene D. Shelton II and Kevin Shelton; one stepson, Mathew Brownlee; two daughters, Shaw Petterson Shelton and Alecia Shelton; one stepdaughter, Allie Smith; one brother, Larry Shelton; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Burial was Wednesday in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery at Fort Gibson, Okla.
