The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, September 01, 2012 Larry Gene Lane, 69, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott Valley. Larry served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged in July 1965. After serving his country, Larry met and married the love of his life, Joan Cecelia Johnson, on Feb. 10, 1968. Larry worked in Local 75 of the Steel and Ironworkers in Arizona for 25 years. Larry loved ice hockey, and had his picture taken with the Stanley Cup. He also enjoyed camping with his fifth-wheel camper. He was proud of his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Larry is survived by his loving and caring wife of 44 years, Joan; his daughter, Shannon (Michael) Kocher of Mesa, Ariz.; and son Kevin of Prescott Valley. Also surviving is his mother Loreen Lane of Puryallup, Wash., his sister, Cathy Swanson of Seattle, Wash., and two granddaughters, Sarah and Katherine. He was predeceased by his father, Eugene, and two brothers, Randy and David. A niche-side celebration of Larry's life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Prescott National Cemetery in Prescott, Ariz., with full military honors. A reception will follow at Larry's home.
