SHOOP, Donna Jean

Donna Jean (Colson) Shoop, 73, of Sun City West, Arizona, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2005. She was born December 18, 1931 in Royal Oak, Michigan to Harold and Florence Albright. Donna was a pioneer working mother who ably managed careers in equipment sales, and over 30 years in Real Estate while raising a large family with James W. Colson in Michigan until his death in 1975. She was a deeply caring individual who stood by and cared for her children, grandchildren, and many members of her extended family. Prior to her arrival in Arizona in 1989 she was an active volunteer with AA/Alanon, the Disciples of Christ Church, and MADD. Donna was always "thinking about you", believed the best for you, and was quick to praise people's efforts. She remained a steadfast friend and confidant to many in spite of family crisis and her own health concerns. In 1989 she married her soul mate Richard Shoop of Grosse Isle, Michigan and together they embarked upon a wonderful love affair and permanent residence in Fountain Hills, Prescott, and Sun City West, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jan Albright; her son, Douglas Colson; both her parents, and grandson, Jordon Czubak. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Shoop of Sun City West, Arizona; her daughters: Donita Jones (Aaron, and Catlin), Suzanne May Colson (Camille, Madelaine, Verity, Perit, and Celestine of New South West, Australia); and sons: John (with Tina, Marie and Christine); Michael (with Jane, Pieter and Luke); Jim Colson (with Judy, David and Elisha); and step-sons: David Bruce Colson (Mickey, Dawn, and Scott); and James Brent Colson (with Cathy, Connie, Leslie, and Jimmy). In accordance with her wishes, a family-centered memorial service celebrating her warmth and kindness in life will be conducted by Pastor Emeritus Franklin Greene on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 11:00 o¹clock at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, 13658 W.
