The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, September 08, 2012 Sue Prueter, 72, passed away Sept. 6, 2012, surrounded by her family in Prescott, Ariz. Nellie Sue Gentry was born in 1940 in Pontotoc, Miss. At age six, she moved to Memphis, Tenn., with her parents, James and Maxine. When Sue was a senior at Messick High School, she met the love of her life, Bill Prueter, who was stationed at a naval base in nearby Millington. In 1958, Sue and Bill eloped to Holly Springs, Miss., where they began 50 years of happy marriage. Together they raised their three children Pam, Doug and Lisa. Sue graduated from Redlands University in California with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She worked as an RN at Ventura County Hospital in California, then at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott. Sue retired from YRMC in 1997 to enjoy traveling with Bill and pursue her hobbies of genealogy research and scrapbooking. In both her professional and private life, Sue was devoted to caring for others. Her many friends and family members will miss Sue's kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. Sue is survived by her mother, Maxine Gentry of Tupelo, Miss.; daughter Pam Wells (Gary) of McMinnville, Ore.; son Doug Prueter of Prescott; daughter Lisa Prueter (John) of Newark, Del.; brother Jim Gentry (Christine) of Mystic, Conn.; brother-in-law David Prueter (Glenda) of Prescott; and grandchildren Jason, Robert and Brittany Wells.
