Arizona Silver Belt Globe, Az. 12 Sept. 2012 Ray Darwin Lewis 70, of Globe, Ariz. passed away Sept. 9, 2012. He was born Aug. 14, 1942 in Ray, Ariz. His parents were Richard and Florence Lewis. Ray grew up in Globe, Ariz. He met his wife, Jo Elaine Davis, and they were married on Feb. 14, 1964. Ray worked for Phelps Dodge mine for 43 years before he retired. He loved spending time with his family, four-wheeling, hunting, camping, and his animals. Ray was a beloved husband, father and friend. He led by example. He taught his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to love unconditionally, to always help others, and to be a friend to everyone. He loved to laugh and made others laugh with him. He always loved to say “I never met a stranger.” Ray is survived by his wife, Jo Elaine (Davis) Lewis; and his five children, Jon (Rita) and Jarom (Cindy) of Globe, Ariz., Jim (Lois) and Joe (Donna) of Bloomfield, N.M., and Karen (Shawn) of Jerome, Idaho. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard A. Lewis of Globe, Ariz. and Ted W. Lewis of Apache Junction, Ariz.; grandchildren, Anthoney, Cory, Jacob, Jessica, Lainie, Jarom, Joe, Pearl, Vernon, Theresa, and Tami; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 at 9 a.m. at the Relief Society Room at the L.D.S. Stake Center in Globe, Ariz. Funeral services will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints in Globe, Ariz. Interment will be at Pima Cemetery in Pima, Ariz
