West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona Tuesday, September 11, 2012 Joan L. Landis, 71, of Peoria and formerly Tolleson died Sept. 6, 2012, from Alzheimer's disease. Mrs. Landis was born Sept. 23, 1940, to Audrey and Mildred Frund in Norvelt, Pa. She lived at Pacific Senior Living of Peoria since July 2010. She spent 26 years as office manager for Database Systems in Phoenix and before that was a secretary in the Mount Pleasant area school district in Pennsylvania. She married Chuck Landis Nov. 22, 1980. She is survived by her husband, Chuck Landis; two sisters, Dawn Renee of Acme, Pa., and Darlene Sprung of St. Louis; one brother, Dale of Texas; three sons, Mark Hudec of Norvelt, Pa., Brian Hudec of Pittsburgh, and Darin Hudec of Phoenix; one daughter, Jennifer Hudec of Litchfield Park; one stepdaughter, Kimberly Franz of Litchfield Park; one stepson, Ted Landis of Peoria; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held Monday at the West End Baptist Church. The Rev. Greg Caudle officiated. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will be held for family at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Sun Valley Animal Shelter and Hospice of the West. Funeral arrangements were made by Advantage Crystal Rose Funeral Home in Tolleson.
