Shirley H. Bacus died Sept. 12, 2012, in Prescott, Ariz. She was born Jan. 6, 1924, in Clarkfield, Minn., the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Jolstad) Lund. Shirley was 88 years old.
Shirley moved to Prescott in 1946. She married the love of her life, Forrest, on Feb. 15, 1947. She was a nurse at Fort Whipple VA Medical Center and then did some private duty nursing. She was a member of the Prescott United Methodist Church for 35 years before becoming a charter member of Prescott Community Church. She sang in the choirs at both churches. She was a member of the Symphony Guild and a volunteer at Sharlot Hall Museum.
Shirley is survived by her daughter Kathy (Bill) Brown of Prescott; brother Samuel (Leona) Lund of Wisconsin; granddaughter Karen (Matt) Vallely of Phoenix; and great-grandchildren, Jason and Alyssa. Shirley was preceded in death by Forrest on June 21, 1996.
A celebration of Shirley's life will be 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at the Prescott Community Church RCA, 3151 Willow Creek, Prescott.
The family suggests memorials in Shirley's name to the Music Ministry at the church or Sharlot Hall Museum, 415 W. Gurley, Prescott, AZ 86301.
