GIANNANGELO, Ellen Margarette

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Monday, September 17, 2012 Ellen Margarette Giannangelo, 96, died Sept. 13, 2012, in Prescott, Ariz. She was born and raised on a farm in Rothville, Mo., riding her horse to the country school. After high school, she moved to Kansas City, Mo., and became a beautician and met her future husband, Frank F. Giannangelo (Doc GI) who was in dental school at the time. Ellen and Frank moved to Prescott in 1954, and lived at Fort Whipple until 1972. She enjoyed playing golf at The Hassayampa CC and Antelope Hills and fishing trips with the family. Ellen was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a homemaker for her family. She was always fun to be with and upbeat. She lived her final years with her son, Gary, who made those years ones of good health and doing those things she loved: watching sports on TV, gardening and taking drives around the area, especially out to Watson Lake, Antelope Hills, and back to Thumb Butte--with an ice cream or lunch, depending on her mood. She had just such a ride the day she died, and now she begins a new journey. She is survived by sons Gary of Prescott and Frank (Vicky) of San Juan Island, Wash.; and grandchildren, Dominica, Eric, Kazarian, Carlye and Dustin. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1997. There will be no services. The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
