William C. “Bill” Beatty, 81, passed away September 17, 2012 in Gilbert, AZ. He was born August 3, 1931 in Morgantown, WV.
He met and married his wife in Ohio and moved to the valley in 1954. He worked construction for many years, retiring in 1995 as the Director of Maintenance for Round Valley Schools in Springerville, AZ.
He was preceded in death by a son Alan Dale Beatty, daughter Rebecca Beatty Bartlett and great-granddaughter Marissa Renee Beatty.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley Beatty, son William D. (Debbie) Beatty, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Services are Friday, September 21, 2012 at 10 AM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way in Mesa.

William “Bill, Poppa” Beatty, 81, of Chandler and longtime resident of Alpine died Sept. 17, 2012 after ongoing heart issues. He was born Aug. 3, 1931, in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Bill was an electrician by trade, but there wasn’t much he couldn’t fix. He worked in the Phoenix/Sun City area for years as the foreman for Jones Remodeling. Upon moving to Alpine in 1981 he decided to put in an application for the Alpine to Round Valley school bus driver and got the job. The next year the district created a position for him after observing him on the job and his qualifications.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Chandler; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Debbie Beatty of Hot Springs, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, son Alan; daughter Rebecca and grandaughter Marissa.
Funeral services were held at Bunker’s Garden Chapel in Mesa.
