West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona Tuesday, September 18, 2012 Leslie "Lee" Hays, 71, of Goodyear died Sept. 12, 2012. Mr. Hays was born Sept. 2, 1941, in Long Beach, Calif., to Leslie L. and Edna Rood Hays. He moved to Arizona in 2006 from San Diego, where he lived from 1976 to 2006. He worked as an elevator constructor, repairman and serviceman, and as an elevator inspector for the state of California. He retired in 1999. He was a member of IUEC Local No. 18, the American Legion Post No. 61, Raceway Elks Lodge 2852 in Avondale, and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2078 in Avondale. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gina Hays. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hays; one daughter, Shari Westbrook of Springfield, Mo.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Private services will be held under the direction of Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear.
