Daniel Jesus Lugo

Daniel Jesus Lugo (Danny), 67, passed away on Sept. 19th 2012 after a life long battle with diabetes. Danny was born on Dec. 24th 1944 to Ernesto and Ceilia. He was the 7th of 12 children.
He attended school in Williams, Arizona and graduated from high school in 1963. He joined the Army right out of high school and served our nation for 2 years in Vietnam. After returning home, he attended Yavapai Community College for one year before leaving to help support his mother. He worked with the Coconino County Forest Service and then became a police officer for the Williams Police Department for 16 years, rising to the rank of Sergeant.
He was a volunteer firefighter for the Williams Fire Department and worked the last 12 years of his career as an officer with the Department of Public Safety in Flagstaff, Arizona. In retirement he volunteered for over 10 years at the front desk of the Flagstaff Medical Center.
He will be remembered for his love of God and his family as well as his smile and sense of humor. He was a loving husband and father and a hero in their eyes.
He is survived by his wife Patti of almost 36 years, his daughters Meghan Geshel (Richard) and Amanda Lugo-Thiel (Thomas); Five grandchildren, Quinn Geshel, Kaiden Lugo, Daniel Geshel, Kassia Geshel and Abram Thiel; 6 siblings, Ernest, Esther Sandoval, Manuel, Richard, Sally Aguilar and Lydia Perkins; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be 2pm, Sunday, September 23rd at Shepard of The Hills Lutheran Church, 1601 North San Francisco Street Flagstaff, AZ 86001
