Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, September 23, 2012 - Patricia Kathleen Sumpter, 65, passed away Sept. 19, 2012 in Lake Havasu City. She was born Aug. 2, 1947, in Iowa to Edwin and Ruby Frances Enright McGourty. Patricia and her husband, Chet, moved to Lake Havasu seven years ago, coming from Southern California. She was a member of the Eagles as well as worked there, where she had many friends. She was known for her beautiful smile and her great cakes. She loved the lake, her family and her friends and her little dogs, Chili and Richy. She will be deeply missed. Patricia is survived by her husband of 41 years, Chester "Chet" Sumpter; son, Todd Gregory (Sue); grandchildren, Colby, Jillian and Trent, all of Cypress, Texas; sister, Mary Wiegard, of Burlington, Iowa; nieces, April Wilkin and Tina Stott, of Iowa, and Heidi Krekel, of Illinois; nephew, Mark Wiegard, of O'Fallon, Mo.; and great niece, Michelle White. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Colleen. Services will take place at a later date.
