Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Friday, September 28, 2012 - Matthew Lenart, 50, Lake Havasu City, passed away Sept. 21, 2012 in Lake Havasu City with his family at his side. Matthew Scott Lenart was born July 10, 1962 at Long Beach, Calif. to Victor and Jaqueline (Holt) Lenart. He grew up in the Orange County area and graduated from Los Alamitos High School. Matthew joined the US Army in September of 1980. He enjoyed serving in the military and was stationed in Germany. After his discharge, he returned to the Los Alamitos area where he worked as a field supervisor in the heating and cooling industry. In 1993, Matthew was diagnosed with cancer. After treatments he was in remission until 2007. When the cancer returned, he fought the disease with everything he had until his death. Matthew loved the desert and all the activities it awarded. He also enjoyed cooking and trying out the latest cooking gadgets. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Lake Havasu Mortuary Chapel Saturday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. The Marine Corps League will be presenting Military Honors.
