Marda L. Murphy, 75, of St. Charles died of a heart ailment Tuesday in Apache Junction, Ariz. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial at St. Charles Cemetery. 

Mrs. Murphy was born in Decatur County and had lived in the St. Charles area many years. She was a homemaker and had worked for Iowa Des Moines National Bank, Warren County Brenton Bank and Warren County Assessor's Office before retiring. She was a member of Rolling Wheels Camping Club of St. Charles and loved to garden, sew and make quilts. 

Surviving are her husband, Fred Sr.; two sons, Fred Jr. of Norwalk and Pat of St. Charles; a brother, Lyle Sears of El Cajon, Calif.; two sisters, Lois Smull of Des Moines and Irene Fickes of St. Marys; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
