Gladys M. Schrage, affectionately known as “Gladdy” to all those who knew and loved her, left her earthly home to reside in her eternal home with her Lord Sept. 19, 2012. Gladdy was born Nov. 23, 1930, to her parents, Otto and Maude Clinton in Glendale, Calif.
On a blind date in September 1947, she met her husband to be, J.A “Pete” Schrage, and was married Nov. 27, 1948, residing in Glendale, Calif., where she gave birth to a daughter and two sons. She and Pete relocated to Lake Havasu City in 1993. Gladdy leaves her true love, Pete; and was predeceased by her daughter, Susie Johannes. She leaves her sons, Jim (Patty) Schrage and Jeff (Candice) Schrage, both in Santa Clarita, Calif.; nine grandsons; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
Gladdy loved to travel while her health was not an issue, and had enjoyed many cruises to sun and water destinations, and went on many trips to Hawaii, where she loved to go marlin fishing. Later in life, she found the casinos in Las Vegas and Laughlin very exciting. Fortunately, she was quite lucky. Although she suffered much pain, when she sat down at a slot machine, the pain magically disappeared. Her departure leaves a tremendous void in many lives.
Services will be in the Chapel at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday. A Celebration of Life will be at the B.P.O.E Lodge 3532 McCulloch Blvd., immediately following the service.
Thoughts and condolences can be sent to Gladdy’s family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.
Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
