Robert H. (Bob) Thompson, 72, of Lake Havasu City, passed away from a sudden, unexpected illness Oct. 1, 2012. Bob was born in Hartford, Conn., Nov. 4, 1939, to Frank and Helen. He spent 21 years in the Army, serving in Germany, Vietnam and Korea. He retired a Master Sergeant.
Bob was well known for his craftsmanship in antique restoration of furniture, wood cook stoves, wood heaters and cars. He received many accolades for his woodcarvings of cliff dwellings along with his stained glass works.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy; his siblings, David Brown, Paul Thompson and Helen Wilhite; his children, Robert Thompson Jr., Cheryl Bielenberg, Laura Thomas and Janice Thomas; his grandchildren, Justin, Robin, Nathan, Ryan, Phillip, Sarah, Joshua, Jordan, Brandon; and his 10 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, at Leitz-Fraze Funeral Home.
