Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Prescott, Arizona Karen S. Counts (August 21, 1955 ~ September 23, 2012) Karen S. Counts, 57, of Prescott, Ariz., was diagnosed with the rare terminal illness, C.R.E.S.T. syndrome with the main illness being scleroderma. She fought an 11-year battle against all odds. She is survived by her mother, Sheila Snyder; her brother, Roger Snyder; and three sons, Jason, John and Joel Counts. Karen, born in Bermuda, made her way to Arizona after her college years in South Carolina. She loved and excelled in the ballet. In her want to selflessly help others, she then entered the physical therapy field. Widely known throughout the physical therapy world in Prescott, she helped countless lives bringing their quality of life back to its fullest. Rest in peace. You alone have made this world a better place. Your life has brightened and touched countless lives. Your strength, selflessness, compassion, and love, is and always will be unforgettable. In the eyes of anyone who has ever had the blessing of having you in their life, you were the most amazing woman and mom anyone could ever ask for. You can finally rest in peace without pain knowing you will always be in our hearts forever. You will be greatly missed. A Memorial Mass in her honor will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Prescott, Ariz., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, Prescott, Ariz.
