Silver Creek Mortuary, Taylor, Arizona JAMES "JIM" EARL THOMAS (January 14, 1936 - October 2, 2012) James Earl Thomas “Jim” 76, of Taylor, Arizona passed away at his home on Tuesday October 2, 2012. James was born on a farm in Estancia, New Mexico in 1936 to James J. and Lottie Hamby Thomas. He enjoyed raising animals and has always loved his dogs. He completed 9th grade and then had to go to work. He owned his own excavating company in Albuquerque, N.M. from 1967-1993 when he sold it. He moved to Arkansas in 1995. He married Elsie Mildred Brown, his wife of 47 years on September 13, 1957. He raised six children. James was preceded in death by his wife Elsie Mildred who passed away in 2004. He was also preceded by his Parents; and brothers: Robert Theodore Thomas and William H. Thomas; Sister: Alice La Verne Thomas Dial; and Son Bobbie Ray Thomas. James married Mary Lundy Thomas on November 25, 2009. Jim was such a loving husband and father. He was such an honest, hardworking and thoughtful man who got along with everyone. Jim helped deliver Meals on Wheels for approximately 3 years until his health became too bad to do so. He is a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. James is survived by his wife Mary Lundy Thomas, and Eight Children: Larry Jay Brown, Evorah Faye Brown, William Clay Thomas, Deborah Gaye Thomas Robinson, Laurence Junior Brown, Chris (Ron) Woodward, Jeffrey Wayne Thomas and Kenneth Wade Thomas. He also had 31 Grandchildren and 40 Great Grandchildren. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday October 6, 2012 at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Centennial Building, Taylor Arizona.
