West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona Tuesday, October 02, 2012 Sheila Braniff Siford, 64, of Waddell died Sept. 23, 2012. Mrs. Siford was born in Clearfield, Pa., to Lt. Col. James P. Braniff and Emma Letcher Braniff. She grew up all over the country and graduated from Surrattsville High School in 1965. She received a degree from Towson State Teacher College in 1969 and earned a master's degree from Western Maryland College. After years as a stay-at-home mother, she re-entered the workforce as a mathematics teacher for Carroll County Public Schools, from which she retired in 2010. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and volunteered for years at her local family history library. She was inducted into the Vanguard Society in 2011, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her mother, Emma Braniff; two daughters, Kristen Mayle and Jamie Beecham; two grandchildren; two brothers, Byron Braniff and Greg Braniff; and her husband, James Siford. Funeral services were Sept. 26 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Surprise. Burial will be in Glasgow, Pa. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.thompsonfuneralchapel.com.
