HOROWITZ, Rose

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona Friday, October 05, 2012 Rose Horowitz, 84, of Avondale died Sept. 25, 2012, at West Valley Hospital in Goodyear. Mrs. Horowitz was born Sept. 27, 1927, in Vilna, Poland. She was a Holocaust survivor. She volunteered for the Lutheran Church food bank program and the Avondale Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her husband and son. She is survived by one daughter, Sue Rankin of Avondale; one son, Robert Horowitz of Houston; four grandchildren; three foster grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held Sept. 28 at Sunland Mortuary Park in Sun City. Memorials can be sent to the Avondale Senior Center, 1007 S. Third St., Avondale, AZ 85323.
