Robert Keith Fruhling was born Aug. 5, 1944, to Jacob and Everene Fruhling in Flagler, Colo. He was called to his Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, in Kingman.
Bob was proud to compete as an athlete for the Flagler High School Panthers in his early years. He graduated from Colorado State University with a business degree and then attended Creighton University Law School for one year. He then moved back to Flagler and joined his father in a Chevrolet dealership in Flagler. On July 19, 1970, he joined Gail Otteman in marriage. They were married for 42 memorable years at the time of his death. Bob and Gail moved to Kingman in 1972 where he was the business manager for Rucker Motors for many years. In the mid 1990s he became a real estate agent, which he remained doing until his death.
Bob's calling in life that gave him the greatest joy was to be a father to his four children, four in-laws and almost nine grandchildren. They are Greta Noreen Fruhling Frazier (Brian), who are blessed with Brice, Macie, and Isaac; Miriam Helene Shuros (Allan), who are blessed with Ellie and Andrew; Abi Gail Fruhling (Donald Finney), who are blessed with Hannah and baby-to-come; Jacob Frederick Fruhling (Erin), who are blessed with Nolan and Wyatt. He is also survived by two sisters, Helen Mae Lewis and Betty Lou Trahern. He was preceded in death by both his parents, son Jake Eric, granddaughter Caroline Grace and niece Sylvia Fletcher.
As we remember our husband, father, and brother, we think of his joy in each day God gave him, his kindness to all, and the wonderful, unique way he had of expressing himself. Thank you Lord for the gift of Bob that we were privileged to share in our lives.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3958 N. Bank St. In lieu of flowers, please remember Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Kingman's Mohave Community Orchestra.
