COMMEAU, Lorraine Mary

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, October 10, 2012 - Lorraine Mary Commeau, 78, passed away quietly in her sleep in Lake Havasu City on Oct. 1, 2012. She was born Dec. 16, 1933, in Old Town, Maine, the daughter of Lena Marie (Landry) and Amos Joseph Gauthier. She worked for many years at the Old Town Water District office, and later volunteered at the Lake Havasu Regional Hospital. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, devotion to family and strong friendships. Lorraine is survived by her four children, Donald Walter Commeau Jr., and his fiancée, Georgina, of Milford, Maine; Stephen Allen (Teresa) Commeau, of Lake Havasu City; Karen (Commeau) (Steven) Carruthers, of Erie, Colo.; Gregory David Commeau, of Lake Havasu City; two grandchildren, Stephen Travis Commeau, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Melissa Lee (Commeau) Thibodeau, of Milford, Maine; and one great-grandchild, Noah Ray Thibodeau, of Milford, Maine. She is also survived by her half-brothers, Jerry Gauthier and Jimmy Gauthier. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Walter Commeau Sr. in 2001; and her half-brother, Dale Gauthier, of Old Town, Maine. She leaves behind two very special friends, Arlene and Paul Petrash, of Lake Havasu City. The family gives special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Lake Havasu City and the staff at Prestige Assisted Living for their care and compassion. Arrangements are under the care of Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St., Old Town, Maine. A graveside committal service will take place at Lawndale Cemetery, Stillwater Ave., Old Town, Maine.
