Lauer passed away Sept. 19, 2012, at his home in Parker, surrounded by family and friends. He had 92 good years. He was born in Chicago, Ill. He moved to California and worked for TWA as lead mechanic for 35 years and retired and moved to Parker in 1983, where he had enjoyed bringing his family to play and boating in the great Colorado River. He enjoyed belonging to both the BPO Elks 1929 and Hospital Auxiliary. He loved working at the golf course and had many friends there. He worked inspecting the crop duster planes and loved his tools and tinkering with them. He was in two wars: WWII flying to Germany in a bomber in Italy and then was stationed on Tonga in the South Pacific. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Bernice; a brother, Art, in Ohio; sister, Joy, in Wisconsin; sons Jack Jr., of Hawaii, Ronald, of Branson, Mo.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; and Bernice’s three children; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at the Elks Lodge, Nov. 24, at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers please donated to Hospice of Havasu, who cared for him at home.
