The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, October 10, 2012 Kathryn Hopkins Eakins passed over to heaven on Sept. 28. She was 92 years old. Born at home on Dec. 10, 1919 in lUte, Iowa, Kay was one of seven children. She married Robert Eakins in 1939. They had three children, two girls and a boy. They moved to Tucson, Ariz., and also lived in Gila Bend before residing in Buckeye, Ariz. Kay was a 50-year resident of Buckeye. While living there, she was a member of Rebekahs and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She also volunteered at the food bank/brown bag, the library, and many church offices. In 2004, she moved to Wickenburg. While in Wickenburg, she enjoyed her friends at the R&R Respite Center and being a member of the Wickenburg Bible Fellowship Church. Along with her three children, Kay is survived by her loving daughter-in-law, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one sister and one brother, many cousins and friends. Services will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church at 970 N. Tegner Street in Wickenburg at 4:30 p.m. this Sunday (Oct. 14).
