The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 10/12/2012 Mary Edwards, 89, died Oct. 7, 2012. She was born Jan. 10, 1923. Mary was interested in sewing and enjoyed sewing for the people that were involved in traditional dances. She loved all her boys and talked about them especially when they went to fight fires. She also loved her children and grandchildren, especially her daughter Melody in Calif. Mary is survived by her daughter, Melody (Edwards) Bacani of Sacramento, Calif.; sons: Vernon Edwards of Kansas City, Mo., Lamphrey Edwards, Vandice Edwards, Danny, Edwards, Patrick Edwards and Thomas (Smokey) Edwards. A two night wake will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at her residence in 7 mile. A home service will be held starting at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. Bacani; daughters-in-law: Matilda Edwards and Donna Armstrong; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A two day wake was held at her home in Seven-Mile Oct. 12, with home services Oct. 14. Silver Creek Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
