GRIFFIN, Sara Ruth

Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from October 14 to October 21, 2012 - Sara Ruth "Sally" Griffin, age 81, a 35-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz., passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2012, in Lacon, Ill. She was born on January 19, 1931, in West Virginia. Sally and her late husband, John, moved to Bullhead City in 1975. Sally taught second grade in the Bullhead Elementary School District, and John was principal of Mohave High until his retirement in 1999. In June 2010, Sally returned to the Midwest, to live near her sister, Grace Marland Beck, who had also been recently widowed. Sal enjoyed shopping, playing bridge, and traveling. Sal and John are remembered for their many contributions to public education – and for their legendary hospitality to everyone who knew them. Sally was preceded in death by her husband, John; sister, Grace, and two brothers. She is survived by three nieces and five nephews. Condolence notes may be mailed to E.
