CANADY, JR., Richard Thomas (Tommy)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 10/16/2012 Richard Thomas “Tommy” Canady, Jr., 61, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, in Vernon. He was born Dec. 30, 1950, in Los Angeles, Calif., the son of Richard Thomas Sr. and Cora Lee Clagg Canady. Richard served his country in the United States Army from 1970-72 and was a Vietnam Vet. He earned the medals of National Defense Service, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. Tommy worked as a logger, long haul truck driver and restaurant owner in Humbolt County, Calif. He moved to Lakeside in 2006 and worked as a contractor, property manager and painter for Bill and Casey Brown. His passion in life was riding his custom Harley Davidson motorcycle. Richard is survived by his sister, Patricia A. Laframboise; brother-in-law Gary, niece Tara; and nephew Ryan, of Litchfield Park; stepsons: Mike and Jeff Stonecipher and daughter-in-law, Mary of Humbolt County, Calif. He was also the beloved grandfather of Leona, Micahel, Jr. and Levi. He was preceded in death by his father and his father’s wife, Linda Ann King Canady. Tommy had many friends in the Show Low, Lakeside, Pinetop area. He will be missed by all. “Tomcat”, Ms. Pat B. and Cuddles love you. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Woodland Lake Park, Ramada #3, Pinetop. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
