The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 10/16/2012 Vera Heap Blevins, 77, died in Mesa Oct. 8, 2012. She was born Sept. 27, 1935, in St. Johns, the daughter of Henry Ward Heap and Etta Berry Heap. She married Conrad Blevins July 14, 1956 in St. Johns and they enjoyed 51 years together before his death in 2007. She enjoyed and spent a lot of time doing family history work. Vera is survived by her sons: J. Ward Blevins of St. Johns, Douglas Jack Blevins of Grants, N.M. and John Elbert Blevins of St. Johns; daughters Deanna Rassmussen of Doha, Qatar and Kristy Ropeter of St. Johns; brother Norman Heap of N.C.; sister LaVelta Patterson of Gilbert; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad, daughter Donna DeHart and eight siblings. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 13 at the St. Johns Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment followed at the St. Johns Westside Cemetery.
