Fred L. Beckmann, 77, of Prescott, Ariz., formerly of Los Alamos, N.M., departed this life Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, in Phoenix, Ariz.
He was born to William and Eloise Beckmann in Woodland, Calif.
Fred is a 1957 graduate of Stanford University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1999, and moved with his wife Carolyn to Prescott, Ariz.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed golf, skiing and the outdoors. He especially enjoyed the ocean, taking many vacations to Newport Beach, Hawaii and the Caribbean. He was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of traveling to Europe after retirement.
Fred is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn L. Beckmann; daughter Keena E. Golden; son William C. Beckmann; grandson Samuel R. Golden; granddaughters, Eloise A. Golden and Keli A. Beckmann; and sister Ruth Gilbert.
Services are private.
