The funeral service for Jay N. Miller is scheduled to be held in the Joseph City LDS Chapel on Saturday, October 20th at 11:00 AM. Viewing will begin at 9:30 AM.
Jay was born on December 1st, 1923 in Joseph City, Arizona. He passed away on October 16th, in Flagstaff, Arizona. He grew up in Joseph City and attended school there and in Holbrook.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a POW. Jay has worked at various professions and retired from the APS Cholla Power Plant as a shift supervisor. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening as well as spoiling his grandchildren. He was a member of the LDS Church and has served in many capacities, including Bishop.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Illa and by one grandson, Vance.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah May. The surviving children of Jay and Illa are—Karla Whittaker Palmer (Jim), Nelson (Karen), Richard (Linda), Douglas (Vicki), Lynette Zweiffel (Robert), Layne (Tammy), and Kari Munk (Dell). The combined posterity of Jay and Sarah May includes 56 grandchildren and 97 great-grandchildren.
