Betty Jane Duncan, 71, Lake Havasu City, passed away Oct. 12, 2012. She was born on April 7, 1941, at home at Mount Calm Corral County, Mich., to Cornelius and Bessie Mae (Laughin) Richards. She attended high school there and then moved to San Diego, Calif., where she met her husband Francis and they married on Coronado Island. They raised their family in San Diego and Betty worked as a clerk in the grocery retail business. She retired in 1990 and they moved to Lake Havasu City where they have lived since. During this time she owned the Gingerbread Place craft store in Havasu.
She was an avid bingo player, visited Laughlin and enthusiastically played scratchers. She was a passionate crafter, mostly woodworking, crocheting and sharing her baked goods. Betty loved animals and would bake homemade doggy treats, making sure not only her own but other dogs enjoyed them. She is loved and will be missed.
