Joe Garcia, 65, died Oct. 12, 2012. He was born Dec. 26, 1946, in Winslow, the son of Hugh and Rose Baca Garcia.
Joe was a longtime Springerville resident; having lived there for 35 years. He was a devoted husband to his wife Aurelia and a loving father to his daughters. He was adored and loved by his four grandchildren, who were the joy of his life. His love and devotion extended to the countless number of friends and extended family that he and Aurelia had.
Joe enjoyed the great outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fishermen. One of his other passions was spending many hours working on his wood carvings and perfecting his skills. Many in the family and friends have benefited from his artistic talents. All these who knew Joe have been touched by his love, generosity and great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Aurelia Garcia; daughters: Patricia Garcia of Phoenix, and Theresa Garcia of Winslow; mother Rose Garcia of Flagstaff; brothers: Bernie Garcia and Isaias Garcia of Phoenix; and grandchildren: Patrick, Nathan, Antonio, and Aviala.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A funeral mass was held Oct. 17, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Springerville.
Interment followed the service at the Springerville Cemetery.
