Bill lost his battle with Leukemia on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012. He was born in Los Angeles, Calif. on Dec. 16, 1926 and grew up in Southern Calif. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Pharmacist’s Mate First Class where he earned a World War II Victory Medal. He also worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Inspection and Permit Officer for the Los Angeles County Road Department until he retired in 1983. Upon his retirement, he moved to Lake Havasu City with his beautiful wife Florence, whom he was totally devoted to. Bill always said that Florence was not just his wife, but his life.
Bill loved his family and has been very active in his children’s lives as their biggest encourager. He also enjoyed time with his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.
Bill was a very active member of Havasu Christian Church for over 25 years and his faith in God stayed strong until the end.
Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Florence; his two sons, Billy and Jeff; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Havasu Christian Church on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Military honors will be given by the Marine Corp League.
