The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, October 20, 2012 Wanda Wendt of Prescott, Ariz., formerly of Hot Springs, S.D., passed away Oct. 12, 2012, in Prescott at the age of 86. She was born on Oct. 24, 1925, in Fall River County, S.D. Wanda was preceded in death by her son, Darwin; her loving husband of 61 years, Chris; and sisters Wilma, Marjorie and Marie. She is survived by her sons Dennis Wendt of Prescott, Chris Wendt and his wife Vickie of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Joel Wendt and his wife Nancy of Castle Rock, Colo.; grandchildren Aaron (Sarah) Wendt, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Wendt, Joelle (Roger) Geissinger and Christopher Wendt; great-grandchildren Caden, Raigan, Karissa, Kelsie, Kali, Tyler and Allie; sisters Esther and Eunice; and brothers Clarence and Chet, as well as her companion of five years, Ed Smith. Wanda was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Elks Ladies and her camping group. She was a very loving, giving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. She will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing her! Many, many lives were impacted by the woman that Wanda was. Her memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 630 Park Ave., Prescott.
