King K. Lybarger, 82, of Flagstaff, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at a Phoenix hospital following complications from heart bypass surgery.
Mr. Lybarger was born in Cope, Colo., on Oct. 2, 1918. He was the youngest of seven children. A World War II veteran, he retired in 1987 after working at the Sioux Ordinance Army Depot in Sidney, Neb., and at the Navajo Army Depot.
A 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus, he was also a member of St. Vincent De Paul and San Francisco de Asis parishes, volunteering much of his time to serve both his church and community. He also devoted many hours to helping the needy at the Travelers Aid Center.
Survivors include: his wife of 51 years, Carmen; son Kurt; daughter Karen and son-in-law Jim; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, siblings, and son John.
Services will be held at 7 tonight at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 224 S. Kendrick. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Norvel Owens Mortuary of Flagstaff.
