MERRILL, Kaylin Crest

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 10/23/2012 Kaylin Crest Merrill, 57, went home to be with his Heavenly Father Oct. 17, 2012, at his beloved home in Eagar. He was born Dec. 3, 1954, in St. Johns, to the late Jay Grant Merrill and Dorthella O. Bigelow Merrill. Crest was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a heavy equipment operator and construction worker. He loved and cherished his family dearly and his family was the most important thing to him in life. Crest loved camping, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, playing the guitar, singing, and riding his motorcycle. Many will remember him riding his motorcycle through town with his faithful companions Buster and Mollie, which he loved. He had a sense of humor and always brought happiness into our lives. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandpa, brother and uncle and he will be missed greatly by all who knew him. Crest is survived by the love of his life and wife of 40 years, LaRee Merrill; children: Weldon (Leiha) Merrill, Rachelle (David) Padilla, and Gerick (Jessica) Merrill; grandchildren: Dustin, Wesley, Joshua, Trenton, Meranda, Kaden, Marc, Jennasea, Dreygen, Makenzie and Nova. He is also survived by his sisters: Melanie Wyckoff, Tyla Garvin, Marsha Johnson, Marla McCue; and brother Rocky Merrill. He was preceded in death by his father, Jay Grant Merrill, mother Dorthella O. Bigelow Merrill and brother Gerick Ike Merrill. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center, with visitation one hour prior.
