CHANDLER, Albert (Al)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Tuesday, October 23, 2012 Albert Chandler, a 20-plus year resident of Prescott, Ariz., passed away Oct. 18, 2012, at the VA Hospital after a struggle with cancer. He is survived by his son Lee (Dora); daughter Deborah (Jeff); eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many family members, nieces, nephews, aunts and in-laws. In addition to family, Al left behind a legion of friends he thought of as family. Al was born July 13, 1939, in Manhattan, Kan. After school, he enlisted in the Navy. After the Navy, he had a long career with IBM. When he retired from IBM, he and wife Wynne settled in Prescott. Al never really "retired." He enjoyed keeping busy, as he liked to call it - first as a Realtor, followed by years with the Yavapai Tribe and the Phippen Museum. He was also active with the Prescott United Methodist Church and the Lions Club. A celebration of his life will be forthcoming at a later date.
