Steven "Stevo" Jeffery Schwartz Sr. was senselessly taken from his family and friends on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012. Steve was born Sept. 13, 1957, in Grand Rapids, Minn., to Donald and Sharon (Howe) Schwartz. He grew up in Minnesota and after graduating from high school, enlisted and proudly served in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged, Steve attended college and earned an accounting degree.
After many years of office work, Steve wanted a lifestyle change and went to work with his hands. He set up, transported and maintained mobile homes for Mohave Mobile Homes in Golden Valley. He was always ready and willing to help anyone who needed a hand. Steve was an avid outdoorsman, loved to fish, but most of all he enjoyed the four-wheeling adventures the Southwest offers. He was active in American Legion Post 22 and a tough competitor in the charity pool leagues.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother and father, and brother Patrick Schwartz. He is survived by his three children: son, Steven Jeffery Schwartz Jr. and daughters, Victoria Schwartz and Melissa Williams; five beloved grandchildren; and stepfather, Vern Sinderson. He is also survived by his siblings: brothers, Donald Jr., Jerry and Dennis, and sister, Roxanne Bulen.
Services will take place at noon on Oct. 27 at American Legion Post 22, 3435 N. Verde Road, Golden Valley. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to help defray expenses. An account has been set up in Steven's name at National Bank of Arizona, 4263 E. Highway 68, Golden Valley, AZ 86413.
