TARR, JR., Howard Charles


Kingman Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on October 28, 2012 - Howard "Wowie" Charles Tarr Jr., 76, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, of complications from congestive heart failure. His family was by his side. Howard was born July 13, 1936, in Phoenix to Howard and Mabel Tarr. He graduated from Mohave County Union High School in 1954 as Student Council president. From the University of Arizona, Howard earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1959, an MBA in 1965, and from the University of San Diego, a JD in 1974. Howard served in the US Air Force from 1959-1963. His fondest memories were those made with friends in high school and in college as an ATO pledge, a Blue Key member, and where he met his wife of 54 years. He was an electrical engineer and an attorney, most recently in patent law. Howard enjoyed gardening, cooking, genealogy, keeping up with old friends, and following University of Arizona sports. Howard is survived by his wife, Vonda; brother, Patrick (Rosanna); son, Glen (Carrie); daughters, Debra, and Noreen Cabrera (Marino); granddaughters, Makenna, Kalia, and Linden. Predeceased are his parents and younger brother, Robert "Bobby." A memorial service will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, at the San Diego History Center, 1649 El Prado, San Diego, CA 92101.
