FREDMAN, Maurice (Maury)


Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Maurice "Maury" Fredman (March 16, 1923 - October 24, 2012) Maurice “Maury” Fredman 89 years old, left his earthly body on October 24, 2012, in Flagstaff, AZ. He was born in Chicago on March 16, 1923 to Louis and Rose Fredman. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy during WWII and survived a kamikaze attack while serving aboard the USS Intrepid. Maury made his career as a candyman in Chicago for over 40 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and served as past Worthy Patron in Chicago. He was a proud member of the Jewish War Veterans of the USA. He is predeceased by his wife, Selma Fredman as well as his former wife and the mother of his children Belle Fredman. He is survived by his children Phillip (Terry) Fredman, Gayle (Jim) McGuinness, Michele Lytle (John Mead); sister Myra (Dave) Scott, nieces Judy and Valerie Scott; five grandchildren; Scott, Tara, Paige, Krystal, and William IV, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Maury’s family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Compassus, Susanne One Love and the beautiful people at Furthershore for the genuine help and caring you showed Maury and his family.
