Lewis Oscar Eagar, 76, died Oct. 26, 2012, at his home in Eagar. He was born Oct. 2, 1936, in Eagar, the son of Ross and Ellen Jepson Eagar.
Lewis worked as a heavy equipment operator for Western Constructors. In his work, he helped build many of the interstate highways in Arizona.
He married Doris Brockman Oct. 24, 1953. Lewis loved his family and doing things with them. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed farming and ranching.
He is survived by his son, Gary (Lori) Eagar of Eagar; daughters: Sandra (Chris) White of Mesa, Penney (Don) Rackey of Gilbert, and Aubrey Ann (Jason) Ruhser of San Tan Valley; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Lewis was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, daughter Tammie Eagar, parents and brothers: Marvin, Rodney and Edwin.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Burnham Mortuary, Eagar. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Amity Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on the corner of School Bus Road and River Road in Eagar.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
