Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, November 4, 2012 - Philip L. Irwin passed away Oct. 19, 2012 at the age of 68 in Lake Havasu City. Philip was born Jan. 17, 1944, in Oil City, Pa., to Luther and Amanda (Guth) Irwin. Philip was currently retired; he had worked as a welder on the railroad and then was employed as a part-time employee working for the city in Lake Havasu City as a water meter reader, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 through 1969. He attended First Southern Baptist Church in Yucca, Ariz. Philip is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Cheryl J. Irwin, of Yucca, Ariz.; daughter, Elizabeth Irwin Dubois, Wyo.; son, Philip L. Irwin Jr., of Brighton, Colo.; brother, William Irwin, of Golden, Colo.; sisters, Ladonna Kutchavy, of Franklin, Pa., and Ginger Rex, of Shippenville, Pa.; and three grandsons, Matthew Madrid, Gage Irwin and Nicholas Irwin. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Delbert Madrid, and granddaughter, Heather Madrid. Memorial services will take place at the First Southern Baptist Church of Yucca, Ariz., at the Yucca Elementary School 12661 S. 3rd Yucca, AZ 86438 Nov. 18, at 10:15 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Basye officiating.
