Kenyon F. Peterson, age 87, a 29-year resident of Ft. Mohave, Ariz., died peacefully with his loving wife, Dorothy at his side on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Hospice of Havasu Polidori House in Lake Havasu, Ariz.
He was born in Los Angeles, Calif., and grew up in the Verdugo City area. Ken served in the U.S. Navy for four years during WWII and was always willing to share his memories about his adventures overseas.
He and Dorothy were soul mates who met in La Crescenta, Calif., and were married for 39 years. They moved to Fort Mohave, Ariz., in 1983.
Ken was an avid 4-wheeler and outdoorsman and was a long-standing member of the Bullhead City Four-Wheelers.
Both are eternally grateful for the loving support and care given by the staff at Hospice of Havasu during the last year of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Peterson; son, Lon (Nancy) Peterson of Victorville, Calif.; daughter, Christina (Randall) Temple of Montana; two step-daughters, Chris Cameron of Ft. Mohave Ariz., and Judy McIntrye of Phoenix, Ariz.; step-son, Steve Burkheimer of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; and Ken enjoyed his six grandkids and eight great-grandkids.
Ken's friends and family will spread his ashes on the Sleeping Princess 4-wheel Trail in Kingman, Ariz.
