STREBE, Eldred (Linc)


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, November 07, 2012 Eldred “Linc” Strebe, 92, passed away March 10, 2012. He was born Sept. 28, 1919, on a farm in Milan, Wisc. He graduated high school in Abbotsford, Wisc., and while living in Wisconsin he worked as a farmer, truck driver and mail route driver. He married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Stadler, on Oct. 14, 1940. They moved their family to Morristown in 1957, where they operated Little Arrows Trading Post for the next 20 years. They retired to Rio Vista Hills in 1975. “Linc” was an avid hunter, enjoying the great outdoors with his son and grandsons, and he was a charter member of the Wickenburg Elks. Kathleen “Babe” Strebe, 93, followed “Linc” in death on Oct. 28, 2012. She was born in Duluth, Minn., on June 30, 1919. She graduated from Owen High School and met “Linc” one day during her sophomore year when they both skipped school. “Babe” was a licensed beautician, working in Wausau, Wisc., and Wickenburg. She was a member of the Easter Star and Lady Elks. They were avid bowlers and won the mixed doubles championship at age 75. “Babe” and “Linc” are survived by their two children Kit (Mary) Strebe and Judy Stephens, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. The family members attended a graveside service at Green Acres Memorial Lawn Cemetery on Nov. 3.
