Owens Livingston Mortuary, Show Low, Arizona Fredrick Rodney Meeker August 3, 1951 - November 6, 2012 Fredrick "Fred" Rodney Meeker died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at St. Joseph's Barrows Neurological Medical Center in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. He was 61 years old. Fred was born on August 3, 1951 in Phoenix, Arizona to his parents, the late Rodney and Margaret (Dehm) Meeker. Fred was a Chief Warrant Officer and helicopter pilot for the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. During his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forced Expeditionary Medal and the Army Aviator Badge. He was Honorably Discharged for his services. Fred worked with the Boy Scouts of America serving as a Scoutmaster in the late 1980's and early 1990's. He also attended Woodbadge and was a member of the Order of The Arrow as Brotherhood. He was well-educated and worked as a registered nurse until his own health dwindled following a cardiac episode in 2002. Fred is survived by his wife Linda Louise (Jarman) Meeker of Lakeside, Arizona; 3 sons: Christopher (Buffie) Meeker of Chandler, Arizona, Brian (Jolene) Meeker of Tucson, Arizona, Kenneth Meeker of California; step-son, Robert (Tammera) Byers of Lakeside, Arizona; 2 brothers: Joseph (Carol) Meeker of Glendale, Arizona, Peter Meeker of Apache Junction, Arizona; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, Fred was preceded in death by a brother, James Meeker. Funeral services are pending at this time and will be updated as soon as they are available.
