VAWSER, Virginia Rose

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Thursday, November 08, 2012 Virginia Rose Vawser, 91, born in Burke, S.D., in 1921, passed away on Nov. 6, 2012, in Prescott, Ariz. Virginia moved to Arizona in 1959 from Santa Monica, Calif., to prospect for silver and gold in the Bradshaw Mountains. She loved Arizona and lived just about everywhere from Sedona to Cleator. Virginia could do almost anything, even built two houses with the help of her son, Richard, and her daughter, Valarie. She lived life on her own terms. When she passed away, she was living at the Arizona Pioneers' Home, which she loved to brag about. She said that mining funds built the home and her mines contributed. She loved the old brick construction, the verandas, the gardens and the staff at the Pioneers' Home. She is survived by her daughters, Judith Colvin and Valarie Isley; as well as five grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Marie, her son, Richard, and her grandson, Robert Culley. Information provided by survivors.
